Where the fees go

There are two kinds of coin on Kollab, and their fees go to two different places.

Coins launched on Kollab

Fees paid in $KOL, burned

Your coin trades against a KOL's coin instead of SOL, so its 2% creator fee comes in that KOL coin. Every 10 minutes the fees are claimed and burned, which shrinks the KOL coin's supply. Nothing is bought.

KOL coins

Fees paid in SOL, sent to the KOL

Each KOL coin trades against SOL and was launched with the KOL's own pump.fun wallet as its creator. Its creator fees are SOL and go straight to that wallet. Each KOL's page shows how much has been sent so far.

What happens to one trade of your coin

  1. Someone trades $YOURSBuying or selling on pump.fun, like any coin.
  2. 2% goes to your coin's fee walletPaid in $KOL, not SOL, because your coin is priced in the KOL's coin.
  3. Every 10 minutes it's claimedKollab collects whatever fees have built up.
  4. The $KOL is burnedGone for good, so there is less of the KOL's coin in circulation. Every burn is listed on your coin's page with its transaction.

An example

Your coin trades$10,000
Fee2%
Burned$200 of $KOL

The more your coin trades, the more of the KOL's coin gets burned.

Who gets what

You, the launcher

No fees. Your coin's fees are all burned, in the KOL's coin it trades against.

The KOL

The SOL creator fees from their own coin, $KOL, paid straight to their pump.fun wallet. Every coin paired with them burns its fees in their coin, so the more paired coins trade, the more of theirs is burned.

Kollab

Nothing. There's no platform fee. pump.fun charges its usual trading fee, like on any coin.

Questions

What is the 0.025 SOL for?
It pays pump.fun to create your coin. What's left stays in your coin's fee wallet to pay the network fees for claiming and burning. If you send more than needed, the extra comes back to you.
Does every bit of the fee get burned?
Almost. The fee wallet needs a little SOL to pay for its own transactions. When it runs low, it sells a small part of the fees (never more than 30% of one round) to top up, and burns the rest. Rounds wait until the fees are worth at least 0.002 SOL, so gas isn't wasted on tiny amounts.
Why is my coin paired with a KOL coin instead of SOL?
That's the idea of Kollab: your coin rides alongside a KOL's coin. When people buy your coin, they buy the KOL's coin along the way.
What if my launch fails?
Your SOL goes back to the wallet it came from. The same happens if you pay after the deposit address expires.
Can I check the burns myself?
Yes. Your coin's page lists every burn with a link to the transaction on Solscan.
